12-Hour Art Day Photography Workshop
With French Photographer Joël Odesser:
Light, Colour, Framing, Motion November 24, 2012 French photographer Joël Odesser showed us how to take good photographs by taking into consideration light, colour, composition and framing. He also explained how aperture, shutter speed and ISO work together and the effects they have on capturing motion and detail. Under his guidance, we experimented with Tracking, Zooming and Static Motion - they were so much fun!

About Joël Odesser
Trained in telecommunication engineering in Lyon, France, Joël has developed photographic skills and his portfolio while travelling around the globe since 2003, in North, Central and South America, and more recently in Greater Asia. Photography became intimately connected to his passion for travel, as he likes to freeze memory through still images and share remote places and contrasting cultures in every corner of the world. Living in some of the world’s major megalopolis led Joël to found a true interest in Urban Scenery, providing a medium for him to pursue Photography as an Art, and as an experiment. Natalie Lo Lai Lai: Hand-Made Special Effects November 20, 2012 Natalie led the workshop using cheap everyday objects and recycled materials with regular point-and-shoot cameras. Using drinking glasses, plastic 'diamond' beads, glue, markers, cutting knives and transparencies, we experimented with a wide range of hand-made filters and special effects, all achieved without using any digital manipulations!

About Natalie Lo Lai Lai
Lo is working closely on artworks on tourism, triggering off ideas on nostalgic travel, resting places and cultural and psychological effects of tourism on the travellers. She is used to focusing on the disappearing elements, the absurdity and sophisticated elements in the cities in a subtle but an ironic way. Her uses of medium are broad, in extent from painting, photography, and mixed media to installation. |
